Q: What type of support can I get?

A: A Coordinator will come to your home at a time that suits you and discuss your needs.You may wish to have a family member or friend present. We will talk to you about what sort of help you may need to manage things at home. This might for example be around help with cleaning, personal care, shopping or getting to appointments.

Q: How old do you have to be to start receiving support?

A: Most Masonic Homes formal programs support people aged over  70 years of age, however Masonic Homes may also provide some services to people who may be younger than 70. Please contact us to discuss your particular needs.

Q: Do I need a referral or a formal assessment to receive support?

A: Masonic Homes provides some services that do not require a formal referral, and you can contact us direct. For many of our government funded programs, however, you may need an Aged Care Assessment to be completed prior to referral. Please contact us to discuss your particular needs.

Q: Is there a waiting list?  

A: Generally there is a waiting list for our services, depending on what type of assistance you require. Please contact us to discuss your particular needs.

Q: How much will I have to pay?

A: Masonic Homes has a range of fees depending on the type of services you require, and whether you are eligible for funded program. We are happy to discuss this with you.

Q: Can you provide care for people with dementia?

A: All Masonic Homes staff are trained in dementia care and can provide care for people with dementia from low to higher levels of support.

Q: Do you provide respite care? 

A: This can be considered as part of a package of care.  Some regions also have programs set up specifically to provide respite.

Q: Do you have multi-lingual home support workers?

A: Wherever possible, Masonic Homes aims to match the needs of customers with specific staff skills. Some of our staff speak a second language, or we may need to contract staff with those skills as required.
