A peak retirement industry body has named a seniors living manager at Masonic Homes as the best in the state for her work at two retirement communities in Adelaide’s south.

Coordinator Nadine Barry has taken out the honour of ‘SA Manager of the Year’ awarded by the Retirement Villages Association (RVA) for her outstanding values and contribution to the retirement community.

Masonic Homes CEO Doug Strain says everything Nadine Barry has done for Hillsview Village at Happy Valley and Walnut Grove Estate in Reynella is more than just good management.

“This award is official recognition of the personal commitment Nadine has made to her residents and her deep understanding of the needs of people in retirement,” Mr Strain said.

This is the second award Masonic Homes has received.

“It is proving to be a popular idea with many visitors to Hillside Gardens who are entering the monthly draw hoping to win a week’s getaway in the Adelaide Hills,” Mr Strain said.

Tiwi Gardens Lodge Retains Aged Care Accreditation for Further Three Years

Leading Territory Seniors care & Lifestyle operator, Masonic Homes, has secured a further three year accreditation for its Tiwi Gardens Lodge in Darwin.
The Aged Care Standards Agency conducted a major audit of the facility and has granted reaccreditation for Tiwi Gardens Lodge, having proven compliant in all 44 out of 44 standards checked during their recent audit check.
Tiwi Gardens Lodge is part of the first and largest seniors living community in Darwin, with a premier aged care facility and a range of independent living options as well as community care and therapy services on one site.

Solar Cities Program shows us how we could cut energy consumption by over 15%

Masonic Homes Ridgehaven Lodge recently participated in the Adelaide Solar City Business Energy Efficiency Program, which gives participants the analysis they need to cut energy costs and carbon emissions in cost effective, practical ways. The BEEP report delivered by Big Switch Projects Pty Ltd., lists energy saving opportunities with the estimated capital costs, energy savings, financial
returns and carbon savings detailed in accordance with the Australian Standard. BEEP is part of the Australian Government’s Solar Cities program, a partnership between all levels of government, industry, business and local communities to trial sustainable energy solutions.
