The retirement Living Association of Australia awards Nadine Barry SA Manager of the Year for her great work at Masonic Homes Hillsview Village. This edition also contains construction updates for a number of projects currently underway.

Our quarterly “Reflections & Directions” newsletter is attached for your information.

In this issue of Reflections & Directions, we again cover the new and ongoing exciting activities at Masonic Homes.
The launch of the new Lumina Apartments at Somerton Park, the new villas in the NW corner of Ridgehaven Rise and the Northgate development, continue to be successful, with over 50% sold off the plan at this stage.

In his “CEO’S Comment” this month, Doug Strain provides details on a submission he made to the Productivity Commission and their enquiry into “Caring for Older Australians”. It will once again reinforce our position on what we believe an appropriate approach to providing for the care and lifestyles of senior Australians.

Winter heralds even cooler nights and in SA it follows the coldest autumn on Record!

It is a time when we all should ensure that older neighbors, family, friends and seniors in general, are best equipped to cope with winter.

Self sacrifice through turning a heater off, is not in everyone’s best interests!

Indeed, let’s make sure they are not just coping, but managing the season well.

Reflections Summer 2009

When His Royal Highness, the Duke of Kent, visited Ridgehaven Rise recently, he saw first hand, one of Adelaide’s premier seniors care and lifestyle communities.The Duke of Kent spent over an hour touring the nursing home and retirement village, meeting the residents in the company of Masonic Homes Chairman, Mr David Brooks, and South Australia’s Minister for Ageing, Ms Jennifer Rankine and other dignitaries.

Reflections spring 2009

One of the largest retirement villages in Adelaide - the 233-unit Hillsview Retirement Village at Happy Valley, was acquired by Masonic Homes in July.  The approximately $10 million acquisition of the well known southern suburbs village is the latest in the significant retirement village project developments and acquisitions which sees Masonic Homes’ assets under management in SA and the NT grow to almost $300 million.

Our new luxury Hills retirement apartments ‘Swung’ into action with well over 300 people attending the public  Open House on January 18th. Hills and Adelaide retirees were invited to a unique opportunity to a taste of what contemporary seniors life is really like.
